- Our clothing order deadline is July 25 - we can't extend this is anyone wants to purchase items for the Regional Rally. Please note - we would LOVE to be able to order the black/white jacket (the last item on the list) but we need 12 to make it happen...it's gorgeous!
- I'm around this week/weekend for lessons - please don't wait until the last minute to book, the sooner I know, the more options I have for times for you.
- There will be Pony Club this weekend (times are on our calendar at www.frederictonponyclub.net)
- Pony Club Camp is next week - I'm hoping the forecast improves!! It's quite full but if there are any kids who would still like to attend, let me know asap.
- Our next Regional Event is the Rally - this will be August 26-27 in Penobsquis at Cardwell Pony Club. As soon as we receive the information about the competition, we'll send it along. ALL MEMBERS can compete in this (if you don't have a horse, you can compete as a groom/helper - it's a LOT of fun), and parents should plan to make arrangements for their own accommodations. From what I'm told, you can camp at the rally site, and they are sending a list of hotels in the area. Stay tuned for details!
Hi everyone, please be reminded that our CLOTHING ORDER is due March 24 - no extensions are possible if we want to have items in time for the Regional Quiz.
I would strongly encourage you to drop those off today if at all possible. I am out of town next weekend at a Coaching workshop - I won't get your order until after the deadline and we don't want to take a chance that it's too late to submit it.
Please don't forget that you must have your payment and order form in an envelope or sealed baggie with your child's name on it. ALL ORDERS SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ME (Heather), and I'll give them to Amy to organize and send in.
All families will have received the order form by email several times, so please check and print it off.
Here are a few extra things for you to know:
April 8 - Grooming Clinic at Hampton Pony Club
October 15 - Regional Youth Education Conference in Sussex (all day) - this is a new event for our region and looks like it's going to be an incredible day! We will need parent helpers that day (as requested by the organizers).
Happy Blizzard, everyone...it's crazy out there tonight!
I thought I'd send a few reminders of important dates, and include documents that you'll need for these events. Please note that there are a few date changes - if you're not sure, the www.frederictonponyclub.net ACTIVITIES CALENDAR is always the correct date (sometimes I forget to change things in the documents).
For those of you who are new to FPC, don't be scared! Pony Club Activities are meant to be FUN and educational. You don't have to go to all of them - you choose what's right for you and your family :) You don't have to have a horse to attend Camp or Regional events. ALL ARE WELCOME! If you'd prefer to go watch any of these activities instead of competing, that's great too - the only exception would be the Quiz. You have to participate if you want to go.
More things will be added - but these are things you should add to your calendar for now!
So - you should know the following:
Sunday, March 19 - Badge Day with Stacey (details to follow)
Friday, March 24 - DEADLINE FOR CLOTHING ORDER

Lots of shopping to do too :) This is our Pony Club Activity for the weekend - I will be in Moncton at a Coaching Theory course.

Just wanted to let you know that the older group will be working on the "FeedRite Easy Rider" badge this Sunday. This badge focuses on proper feeding and watering for horses in different seasons and nutrition. We will be having a guest speaker - Rachelle Ramey from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Please note that the session will take place at a different time and location than usual - from 2:30pm-4:00pm at Little Munchkins Club House ( 2288 Hanwell Road). It would be great for all older members to attend and complete this badge - please respond and let me know if you will be attending. See you on Sunday.
Younger members will meet at the regular time / regular place. I will be working on beginner badges with the younger group in March on the 19th. So brush up on parts of the pony, parts of the saddle, parts of the bridle, and colours and markings!!

Just letting you know that we will indeed have Pony Club this weekend - no storms, my back is feeling quite better - I miss my munchkins!
Meeting times are, as always, easily found on our website's Activities Calendar if you need to refresh your memory. A reminder: please don't turn around in my neighbours' driveways - they get annoyed! Drive up to the top of the street and loop back around!
I've also made the decision that I won't be running the March Break Camp - there were very few people who were able to attend, and with all this snow, if would be be very challenging to have group rides. I will, however, be available for lessons throughout the week for anyone who's looking for some extra time at the barn.
Have a great day and see you Sunday!
Because of my ongoing back issues, Pony Club is cancelled for tomorrow (February 12, 2017) - I'm very sorry for the change in schedule but unfortunately I'm not very mobile at all.
See you next week!
Just a reminder that we have a Branch Meeting this weekend at our regular "Winter Hours": Please make sure your kids are dressed VERY WARMLY (including snowpants or multiple layers).
6-9 Year Olds 2:00 - 3:15
10+ Year Olds 3:30 - 4:45
I have had a few complaints from my neighbours - they don't want people turning around in their driveways - PLEASE GO TO THE TOP OF THE STREET and circle around (it is a big loop). Pony Club is about being a good citizen and neighbour - thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Please also make sure that your child has used the washroom before you leave home - it seems that I have very frequent requests to use my washroom and it disrupts my family - my dogs bark every time someone opens the door. Thank you!
If you have your camp registration form, please bring it - so far I have only received 1. If I don't have at least 4 campers, I will have to cancel it. If necessary, you can pay the deposit a little later - but I have to know who is attending ASAP.
Please be advised that we will have a branch meeting this Sunday, January 29 - regular "winter hours"
6-9 year olds 2:00 - 3:15
10+ year olds 3:30 - 4:45
A few items:
1. Don't forget - if your child is planning to attend March Break Camp, I need the registration form and deposit as soon as possible. I sent out this information in one of the last emails - if you need it again, I've attached it.
2. Our new Executive will be holding a meeting on Monday, January 30 (evening) if anyone is interested in joining us - please email me for more information - we definitely appreciate help in all areas of the club!
3. Please MARK YOUR CALENDARS for April 22-23 - those are the dates of the Regional Quiz - more information will follow but this is a FABULOUS activity for all our members!
Just a reminder that our Fredericton Pony Club AGM meeting is scheduled for January 14th 1-3pm at The Ville in the Community Room. This is an important meeting for all FPC parents to learn about what has taken place over the past year as well as to help with planning for the upcoming year. This is a chance to get your voice heard in deciding how FPC operates & what activities might be organized for FPC members. Following the AGM piece of the meeting, committees will get together to start planning for the year. Please make every effort to attend as the success of Pony Club relies heavily on its volunteers!! Many hands make light work. The agenda was sent to our email group - if you did not get it, please let Heather know.
Please note: If parents need to bring their children that's okay, but it is a 2 hour meeting so if at all possible, it would be best if children didn’t attend as that’s a long time to entertain themselves.
Assistant DC/Volunteer Coordinator
in case you're not sure, ALL are welcome to attend our Badge Ceremony Party this Sunday, January 8 (2-4 pm at Little Munchkins Preschool, 2288 Hanwell Road) - if you're just starting Pony Club, you can bring all your paperwork and fees to us...if your child is finishing up with Pony Club, they can come pick up their badges.
I always put event information on our website's Activities Calendar as well as the InfoBlog, also on the website (www.frederictonponyclub.net)www.frederictonponyclub.net and I also post on our Fredericton Pony Club Facebook page - so if you're not sure, those are places you can check :)
If you're coming to the party, please plan on contributing a snack or beverage for the group -- the more, the merrier!
Happy Holidays FPC Members!
Our badge ceremony is being rescheduled for this Sunday, January 8th from 2-4pm at Little Munchkins Clubhouse (2288 Hanwell Road). The first hour will be outdoor activities, then hot chocolate/cookies and games, followed by badge presentation.
For those who have not yet registered for 2017, please bring forms and payment with you on Sunday. We will also have T-shirts and hats available for purchase.
Hope to see everyone there.
FPC Badge Coordinator
I hope you've all had a wonderful holiday so far and that your kids have enjoyed the snow and family time :) I'm around this week if anyone wants a lesson - it's fun to ride in the snow!
If you haven't yet submitted your 2017 paperwork and fees, please let me know when we can expect these. As I've mentioned before, NBEA memberships expire December 31 - so if you haven't renewed, your child has no liability insurance until you renew (the only exception to this is for anyone who joined NBEA Sept 1 or later - you are covered until the end of 2017).
When you submit your membership things, please make sure you submit the following:
- 2017 Canadian Pony Club Application
- 2017 NBEA membership card (please go to "your" account at www.nbea.ca to print this off)
- 2017 FPC Membership Application
- $340.00 Yearly Fees (this is for anyone who started in FPC between January 1 - August 30, 2016, or anyone starting for the first time in 2017)
- $240.00 Yearly Fees (for anyone who joined FPC Sept 1 - Dec 2016)
Please note: our lives are MUCH MUCH simpler if you make sure to include EVERYTHING in your paperwork. Please take the time to print off your NBEA card to include with your 2017 form. It's very time-consuming to try and track them down - and we need to submit your paperwork to Canadian Pony Club in a timely fashion. Thank you! You can drop everything off to me (in my mailbox if that's easier) and I'll make sure it gets processed as quickly as possible.
Just to let you know - I've emailed our Party Committee to see if we are still a go for today - as soon as they make a decision, I'll email you again. If you don't hear anything, you can assume that the party is still a go.
I've emailed all of you the "Christmas letter" - if your child is getting their membership for Christmas, you can print it off. Please be aware that they cannot attend club activities until their membership is renewed. If you need to make payment arrangements, you can do that through Stacey, our Treasurer.
